For figuring out which method is the easiest to use, it really depends. In my opinion, I prefer to search for my favorite sites first and then adding it because some of the sites that shows up using the blog search doesn’t show up, especially some of my favorite video users that I watch from. Although I post the sites using those tools, I wouldn’t really consider those sites my top sites that I would use. The feeds are still a bit confusing because videos rarely show up for my search that I wanted. I watch animes so I would like to see recent updates (uploads) from the users so I can watch. But this task seems a bit more complicated to do, especially since the site didn’t sho
First Part of RSS Feeds Activity (Lesson 7)
August 26, 2007The RSS and newsreaders seem simple to use after 1 or 2 more tries of messing around with the sites and adding in the links to the sites. It seems very doable and after a few tests it seems quite interesting on how the most recent posts, blogs, updates, etc are shown up on the account for a preview on what is written. I guess I would use this to check upon some of my friends blogs that they post on their myspace, facebook, xanga, etc. It’s sort of similar to how the xanga and myspace site is doing with email. They post a notification on new updated posts and stuff for me to check in my email. This is sort of similar, but on the account itself. I believe the library can use this to to help them get posts on patrons’ thoughts and needs easier than having the feedbacks on piles of papers. Also with this they can probably post updates for librarians as wells as patrons to see any events or urgent news without having to ask directly. For children this might be a great asset for online story telling, showing videos of the activities we are going to do, and so on.
Other Flickr applications
August 20, 2007I tried to skim and tried the applications listed and some were very interesting. I liked the “Spell with Flickr” best because it’s more interesting creating words from the different clips of pictures that have the letter in them and forming the words you wanted it to spell out (even if you mispelled the word it will still spell it out). At first I thought it would correct my spelling for me so I tried to mistype “caffeine” by typing “caffeinne” and it still spelled it out. The others were sort of similar with it, but I liked this one best. The sudoku and trading cards are alright but would be one of the type of applications that I believe wouldn’t be very popular after a while (only an opinion). I like flickr and would sometimes share photos, but I mainly use it on my facebook for other student purpose rather than too public like flickr.
whole family with grandparents
August 20, 2007For week 3, lesson 5’s discovery lesson with Flickr I uploaded and tagged a photo of my whole family on my little sister’s 22nd birthday. My grandparents were sponsored over from vietnam and we were able to celebrate as a whole family this year. The uploading process seems very similar to many uploading sites I’ve seen like myspace, facebook, and photobucket. Hope you can see the image that I posted.
Week 2’s Blog Entry
August 11, 2007I’m pretty used to doing blogs, but this will be a different use for my blogging. The program seems intriguing and I would like to see what is offered. I know pretty much alot of things about the internet, so I was hoping to see what this program is like and if there’s anything new that I can learn from it. I think this program will be useful for many others who don’t know internet very well. This sounds pretty simple to complete. I have completed everything up to #4 which is the emailing part that I am going to do. I have finished listening to the podcast to registering to writing a first blog. That’s about it.
